At one stage wasnt it lack of QF priority boarding in ADL?

And ISTR it relates to the departure times of the SYD-ADL flights QF vs VA. Whereas in the other direction they leave at the same time.

Pretty much.

6am departure from ADL with QF is a pile of steaming excrement. IMO. (To put it politely) Even with the PB signs. By comparison VA is absolute bliss. The barista in the lounge is also quicker, less demand. (VA being <$100 also helped)

Flight times are not good with VA departing SYD. 10 hour days plus a bit of catch up for Monday means the 18:10 VA flight is no good, I've also seen that move to something like 17:40 in May, IIRC. The QF 18:40 flight is still a bit early, but do-able. Otherwise it is 20:05 and 20:10, QF J lounge wins over hot dogs. Especially, as the QF staff are pretty awesome in the J lounge - I usually get full table service.

The only bad bit is VA put on the late flight a few months after I emailed and asked for a late flight. I feel a bit bad about not supporting it.

My calendar looks a lot like yours medhead for both apr and may, syd-adl-syd but normally just for the weekends. PS at the moment but by the end of the month thanks to DSC i'll be back up to SG. Hopefully i'll be able to help others out by then.
