After lunch, 'containment' was an issue  . Huge lunch!

Boy was it ever! There were enough leftovers to feed an army...

Very pleased with my haul over the last few days, and the fact QF didn't bat an eyelid when we boarded with a box of wine....

Currently at ADL Zoo, flight this avo. Both check-in bags at max capacity & full of wine. Will post my puctures when I get home

So true, I had breakfast, lunch and dinner in that sitting! Buzz somehow managed to get the winery to cater enough food to feed twice the number of pax. Very tasty food too!

Looks like a great event - very sad to have missed out :( :( :( :(

Of the events I have organised to date, this was my most outstanding effort. I have no idea how I'm going to top it. Not taking all the credit though as +1 had a huge input and the wineopoly board was designed by munitalP. I just printed and laminated it, giving a copy to everybody.

The amount of food for lunch at Serifino's yesterday was incredible. ..I think there was almost one hot and one cold platter per person!!

Ahhh Death-star.... wine packed in packaging used for shipping wine from Tegan's work place, (yes, we brought with us packing materials) plus bubble wrap and clothes stuffed in every crevis, bags tagged "fragile".
Yet within 5 minutes of giving you our bags, you call me to say one of the bags is leaking, come and view.
2 bottles of red, in the centre of the bag are not just broken, they are smashed to smitherines. 1 Antler case soaked, and about 10 pieces of clothing stained.

$67 in wine, $500 in clothes and $150 bag..... any suggestions? (have yearly travel insurance policy)

Oh no! Baggage handlers from hell by the sounds, I've never had trouble bringing wine in achecked bags from overseas. Maybe give your insurer a call...

Oh man. That sucks Bindibuys. Seriously, was it run over by a truck? We saw baggage lying on the ground on the Dom-Int transfer in Sydney so quite possible.

That is absolutely dreadful news Bindibuys.
The bag you might be able to hose out but the rest.......
And I bet JQ don't want to know anything about it. Definitely contact the insurance company, hopefully with photos.

just finished re-sizing the photos, was able to save most of the clothes by over night soaking in napisan, but Andrews Icebreaker "departure" shirt (retail $160.00) and Icebreaker T-shirt (retail $80.00) and business shirt from M&S are permanently stained.
The 2 bottles of wine were - Kay Brothers Hillside Shiraz $44 & Rockford GMS $27.
The other 19 bottles of wine made it home.

In a way I was lucky, I normally travel with many more Icebreaker or cashmere items, as these are my travel essentials, but being summer and the wedding & dinner at Casablanca to attend, my packing was "out of my norm".

Not sure how we will go, my travel insurance states - not covered for fragile (glass) items, will try Jetstar first, then see if we can claim "consequences".
In the scope of world woes, tis but a drop in the ocean.

Rockford. (Gasp!)

Hmmm ... is Napisan the approved red wine stain remover? I might need to invest in some for, um, casual use.

Seriously .. what are words of insurance policy .. not covering fragile/glass items (wine) .. but ruined clothes?

Have you tried applying bicarbonate then white vinegar followed by a water rinse?

I used Sard sprays on a few splatters of wine on my top, rubbed it with a Sard block under running water then cold wash in the machine. Good as new.

Napi-san - changed this white top with red wine stain, to near new condition.

But these next 2 items are pure wool. The fabric just sucks up the colour.

My travel insurance policy states:

so I read that as - broken bottles will not be covered, BUT will the consequences of a broken bottle be covered - yet to find out.
(unless someone here knows travel insurance? )
