Mum's place is looking even better, price wise; )

OT I know but we are discussing Hotel prices. Last week I checked the price for Hilton AKL (March dinner) and saw a room for ~NZ$275.00 and thought I'd book it later. Checked today and the price is over NZ$1,000.00 for one night!

That's just a touch out of my price range

Just opened in ADL about 2 weeks ago is the Ibis Hotel. Very good reviews. Might be worth a look.

Thanks for for that Buzz. Have finally decided on the Intercontinental . Hilton was far too expensive, and Intercon is convenient to pick up on the Sunday, not to mention shopping on the Monday !!! Really looking forward to the event.

Also saw your rate for Auckland !!! We stayed there in October and had a great weekend, but certainly did not pay that rate !!! Keep checking as the rates do change.

I wanted to stay at intercontinental but the cheapest rate I found for the 17th was $257, more expensive then Hilton!

When I looked today the Hilton was well over $500 and could not find the Flexi rate. We are staying from the 17th - 20th when the Tour Down Under is on so I'm sure that is why the Hilton is so expensive. Haven't stayed at the Intercon for approx 15 years when it was Hyatt.

Checking my notes, a king room was $245 and a Harbour View room was $310
