Hi all frequent flyers, I’ve got quite a few international trips coming up and one is to Europe, out of MEL on EK409 (sold as QF code) but with only a 75min connecting time to my next EK (QF code) EU leg.

I know MCT for Dubai EK-EK is 60 mins so it’s ‘legal’ and EK409 OTP is generally quite good, was just wondering what the group think on this connection time was in reality?

A few years ago several of my transits in Dubai involved tarmac, stairs, buses, security screening and terminal changes. Would have been tight on 75 min connection. Maybe things have got better but two hours would be safer for me.

Doing the same next month. I'm not bothered as heading onto LHR and will be reaccommodated on a later flight if I miss the connection and I'm not in an urgent rush to get to my end destination if delayed, even by a day. Main annoyance will be missing out on a shower in the lounge.

I’ve found if you are on a tight connection you may find an Emirates ground staff member waiting for you to whisk you straight to your next gate - well has happened to me twice transiting in Dubai.
