Hi There,

Trying to go to Maldives in March, cheaply, but comfortably.

All the QF FF business seats to Singapore are long gone, only JQ left, and they don't really suit.

Then today I realised you can fly direct from Hong Kong to the maldives, with Mega Maldives??...weird website, they seem to have random flights etc...all looks a bit weird but the timing is perfect... we can fly in biz with Cathay leaving Melb at 0:50, sleep the 9 hrs, arrive 7am and then connect to Mega at 9.45am for the 6 hr flight to Maldives....its quite streamlined.

I didn't know If I was allowed to post the link to them or not, so you'd need to google to check them out.
I could get a "premium seat" one way for $500 which was ok for a 6 hr flight.

My alternatives via Singapore, Bagkok, or KL don't stack up comfort wise or schedule wise.... I am just a bit hesitant as it isn't a very mainstream sounding carrier..

Any thoughts ?

in for responses ... Mrs Bigjobs is very keen for about the same time of year.

failing that (cant say im in a hurry for a nice long sector on a 757...) there are good package deals available ex-HKG flying SQ/MH/others

??+??? Packages.com.hk - ???

Thanks, I don't need a package as I already have my resort selected. Yes, I tend to agree re the long sector..the limited pics of the plane interior look like velour bus seats !

maybe the daytime Jetstar Star class sale fare, (not wasting points on flight) to Sing, then SQ early morning flight next morning is probably still the best option....
