Timely update - I actually learnt yesterday there is a very good chance I will not be in the country on Aug 21. Was originally booked to dep MEL on Aug 24 but appears like it will be Aug 19 or 20 now. If MELCAN II is to proceed might be prudent for a fellow AFFer to take the lead if I am most likely now unable to attend?

I don't know exactly who is coming and how many booked flights already but if, let's say, there are two pax who require flight changes at the cost of $88 pp (not sure how much VA charge) maybe we can all chip in so no one loose too much and everyone can attend.
Again, all depends on how many platinums we have and how many pre-booked flights.
It's just a suggestion off course, I'm available on both dates ATM.

I booked QF flights to attend, cheapies out of the GC. I don't know how much these will cost to change.

I don't mean to throw a spanner in the works, but what's wrong with keeping the date?

With no income I can't afford to change my flights... so if we go down that path, I'll be bringing champagne down on the 21st still and be happy to receive an invite to share it with anyone in the area
