Hi all , merry Xmas (Boxing Day?)

Needed some help on a JASA in march with mrs sharma to gain maximum SC's please.

Mel > Cns march 12 or 13.
Cns > Bne march 20.
Bne > mel march 22.

Have 132,000 pts to burn.

So far the best I've found is about 172k (min points slider) plus + cash (240 sc). Is there any other way to get it to my points level??

Or should I book what I can and wait for more points to accumulate and book other legs later? Not sure if I can rustle up 40k pts in a couple of months!

Thanks for any help.

Your likely problem is there are three separate trips there and each is calculated separately. Also, For the best JASA earning, connecting flights work better.

MEL-CNS,
CNS-BNE
BNE-MEL

For the first one, MEL-CNS the direct flight can be had on both days for 36K & $160 and earns 80 SC each. Go via SYD for more SC's: MEL-xSYD-CNS costs 36K & $190 but earns 120 SC each.

I'd lock the second one in now - being your longest journey (and availability exists as I post - it may not next week.)

Due to frequency of flights, next in line would be CNS-BNE, then BNE-MEL.

CNS-BNE is 24K + $120 each and earn 60 SC's

BNE-MEL is is 24K + $110 each and earns 60SC's, but note that BNE-xSYD-MEL is 24K + $220 to earn 80 SC's.

It will cost more overall with the CC fees by breaking it down like this but doing so maximises your flexibility.

If you want to save a bit on points have a look at MEL-SYD-ASP as a JASA for 48K + $291 for 2, then paying for a flight ex ASP to CNS (Circa $200 each Y). That will earn 120 SC and 3136 points and an additional 15SC and 1000 points for the leg to Cairns in y. That comes to a total of 144K, 12K should not be too hard to get (its 4 dozen wines via Epiqure for $600) or $1200 in QF gift vouchers.).

As always a wealth of knowledge from both of you. Thanks for the advice. I think a combination of both suggestions will be perfect here.

Another query. We are expecting out first baby in June, if for some reason mrs neeraj cannot go on the holiday, how are qantas with doing credit vouchers or the like for award flights?

Congratulations on the baby due, enjoy the sleep.......your life will change forever (whats a sleep in????). If you book a JASA, under current domestic rules its fully refundable.

Ha! I'm dreading the lack of sleep.

Thanks for the info. I might bite the bullet and book it. Will cross the cancellation bridge if we need to!

Safe new year to you.
