MEL DFW Routing

Ill probably visit a friend in Denver on the way home so maybe a DEN LAX MEL would be an option?

It certainly is, whilst DEN-LAX would most likely be on AA (if booked all via the QF website) and again it's not flash down the back of the bus, but it's only a hour or two flight before going onto a direct QF flight. A couple of hours on AA in Y is livable.

The reason I'd consider a preference of DFW-LAX-MEL over DFW-BNE-MEL is (aside from the A380) the relative ease of connection at LAX out of the US, compared to BNE (no need to collect/recheck bags, and relatively straightforward terminal transfer).

Thanks again for the tips. My destination is actually HSV with a stopover in DEN on way home so think I'll go with MEL SYD DFW HSV (Dest) DEN (Stop) LAX MEL.

OT: have now realised I have truly lost the plot reading this thread :D
Have only been thinking of how the OP could maximize the AA sectors to his/her advantage

I've done the DFW-xBNE-MEL transfer twice and it's a POP!

Only arrival at BNE that time of morning so basically straight out.

Bag recheck is within arrivals hall at ¼ the distance to lug bags than SYD T1 to 'seamless' transfer.

T Bus stop is a little up from just outside the bag recheck counters.

You must have been lucky being the only arrival, normally QF8 has SQ and KE hot on its heels and often QF ex AKL as is the case this morning.
