Another AFFer has just discovered that I am not 5' 6" or Asian. ;)
... nor indeed have a Lego-like blocky countenance... :p

Thanks to Mark and Megan for a great evening, now headed past Morrabbin on my intrepid quest home ...

See you Sunday for the "footy" ... :D

I was wondering if I'd missed a change to three hours because that would save me some money if it was! :)

Actually you can stretch it to a 3 hour fare - if you touch on at 1 minute past the hour (eg 9.01 am), the system rounds it up to the next hour (ie 10 am) so you have almost 3 hours (until 12 noon in this example) to complete your travel...

Glad I could make it in the end (and the brief walk through earlier).

Thanks to Penegal for organizing and Trunk for under catering the wine cellar apparently ;)

Not sure if Trunk met our needs! Drank them out of the two wines we preferred! :p

Thanks for organising penegal. Good to catch up with faces old and new - see those of you who can make it (and aren't flying, sertfy- or stuck north of 2 borders, bundy) next week :)

Adding my thanks for the organisation, was a good night and I think it was a good thing they ran out of wine!!!

Thankyou all for a great night.

Special mentions for boxo (all the way from California) for being the instigator and picking the venue, Bundy Bear for flying down just for this event, and finally thanks to simongr for assisting with splitting the bill.

I was a little slow this morning, along with others I'm sure.:oops:

I am looking forward to seeing many of you next week for the boxo reprise dinner at The Long Room. Please sign up here - http://www.australianfrequentflyer....ts/mel-dinner-drinks-wednesday-5-a-50232.html

Thanks to penegal for organising the dinner location, yes I flew down to Melbourne just to catch up with boxo(FT) and a few others, thanks to Virgin for providing award seats on my desired flights a day out from purchase, but what sealed the deal was Hilton on the park having award space 16,000 + $61, bargain.

Thanks to simongr and JessicaTam for the cab sharing, and especially for Jessica in giving me the hint to go, that saved any potential hangover this morning.

Yeah it is a long way when you cross 2 borders, serfty did it for Brisbane Christmas drinks so I thought it wouldn't be so bad, always wanted to do another city drinks and finally I ticked that off my bucket list.

It was great to finally meet simongr in person, another bucket list, I need to work out which AFF member I most want to meet next.

Certainly a lot more adult beverages are consumed at Melbourne events.

It is also funny with AFF events the different people you meet in different locations, I last saw dfcatch in Brisbane and then we meet again in Melbourne, but lot of other similar stories, flying with technology keeps us all very well connected and it doesn't really matter where we meet.

The taxi driver was very concerned after you hopped out.... "where's he going?"

Me: "oh he's fine - he's a professional - he'll be ok :)"

Of course I was fine, but I probably should have gone home :oops::oops:

Too much vino I think

Likely having lunch with Boxo on Tuesday but I have committed (barring accidents) to turning up later on (after 10) to this event. :)
