OOL drinks/dinner? samh004 organised OOL drinks in July.

Bundy Bear can still organise BNE drinks/dinner, and boomy is also around if not working in MEL.

Bundy Bear and I are in contact. Maybe we can work something out. Been a busy week for me, had to book a trip to YUL today for next month.

So, it appears The Olive Tree is the consensus choice. Is there a consensus time? I will be coming from near the QVM (at the Radisson on this visit), but I'm also not working so I request the advisement of those who may have to work as to what time is best for them. Also, if reservation is required or preferred by The Olive Tree I will be more than happy to make one. As well, if it is BYOB, I may take a wine request or two if someone wants something that I may be able to find here in LOTFAP...though don't bust my budget please :p

It is polite to make a reservation, and generally a good idea for a larger group, so they can have an appropriate table set.

If you get a local to make it, they can earn Qantas Points.

If someone local would like to make the reservation once our number firms up a little more, they are more than welcome to have the points for themselves :). Thank you for the heads up, it appeared reservations are preferred best I could tell. Even with the internet, not totally easy to do this from nearly 9000 miles away.

Happy to help out if needed with a booking.

As we are now within one month, and my finances have taken a noticeable swing for the better, I'm continuing to look forward to this. Does anyone have any updates or confirmations to their status in post 18? I would like to make a reservation within the next week or two, and a rough head count is helpful. If you can't make it, I shall be forced to eat and drink for multiple! Don't worry, I can handle it :D.

We can always adjust the booking as required.

I would love to catch up again TheBossman but unfortunately I'm a bronze for this

I would love to catch up, but realistically I will probably be travelling for work.

I have had one week in Melbourne since April and that was only because I was [very] sick.

Updated through post number 35.

The element of the periodic table with atomic number of 29:

OT
Whilst Copper (Cu) may be an apt description of penegal’s status when it comes to attendance at AFF functions etc, and whilst Cu does have an atomic number of 29, there are two stable isotopes of Cu (Cu-63, Cu-65) that exist as well as several (27) radioisotopes, one of which I am involved with, namely Cu-64, which is both a beta and positron emitter. Why am I telling you this? Well I think, having met penegal on a number of occasions, that to be more precise with penegal’s description/situation, terminology utilising a radioisotope of copper, eg Cu-64, is more apt a description.
That is, being radioactive it is inherently UNSTABLE

Danger, high voltage.

Better pack you Geiger counter.
