Seems a fair bit quieter of late. This was a midday visit middle of last week. Was still well populated but much more comfortable. Other recent visits similar.

Noodle soups the only kitchen options yet again for me. The rest of the food has been good though.

Went through yesterday morning and it was the quietest I have ever seen it since the renovation. Maybe Easter and school holidays?
It was nice not lining up for coffee

Was in the dom J lounge today. Was busy though that would be because they closed the Qantas Club. Obviously due to staffing on public holidays though meant finding a seat was quite hard. Also love how soft drinks are not self service but the alcohol is once the bar opens

This is when P1s should be invited to the CL. But no.

QF Club lounges are so basic they are hardly of any value. Marginal at best. I call them the Iced VoVo lounges, because they provide cheap biscuits to go with drinks. The food overall is poor, the seating is getting very basic, more like McDonalds tables and chairs, hard unattractive plastic. And at peak times just getting a seat is a problem.
And as for the so called business lounge at Sydney International, its a disgrace with poor food. The whole policy is flawed.....if you have a cheap J class ticket but status you access BusinessFirst, a nice lounge. But if you just paid a lot of money for a QF J class ticket, didn't get a deal, or don't get a corporate rebate etc, all those extra dollars get nothing and you are consigned to an inferior inadequate lounge.

This is the reality of Alan Joyce's QF.

Better to fly another carrier, cheaper fare, better product, better lounges, or even just use the Amex lounge.

I don’t mind the Qantas Club - generally just looking for a toasted sandwich and a cup of tea.

Totally agree with the International J lounge - just a joke. We dropped from platinum a few years ago and when to it for the first time having just paid $12k each for J flights to SFO (it was December and we had to go urgently, so just booked on the Sunday and flew the next day). Couldn’t believe how bad it was! It isn’t really an international business lounge, it is for people flying economy, with QC membership or gold status. I think Qantas assumes that if you are flying J a couple of times a year then you will be in the F lounge and if you are an occasional J flyer they don’t care about you. I was in Kenyan Air’s J lounge in Nairobi last year and it was far superior.

One of the escalators is out of action. It has been like this since last week.



Guests are being asked to use the EXIT stairs to go down to concourse (lift still available).





The passage also leads through to the QP. They have a security guard at the J lounge door.

Actually, up to Melbourne Airport to fix and it'll be on their schedule. Maybe it's a spare part that they are waiting for?

Hopefully not the same supplier of parts that saw the Sydney lounges using paper plates for several months due to a dishwasher break down

Was there on Fri night abysmal along with the food which was beyond mediocre e.g make your own toastie.
