Is having dinner/drinks around Glen Waverley an issue for anyone? Is there a nice, inexpensive, pub in the area?

Where is oz_mark when you need him?
IF the location is out of the city area then close to a railway station would be good. Closer to the city would be better because as noted by leadman Glen Waverley is not really a pubs area.

Glen Waverley is about as far east of the city as I live west. I would prefer something more central, then I could manage one hour home instead of two.

I have a spare bed.

and yes, lots of great restaurants. Would save me having to travel in like I usually do...

The station is in the middle of the restaurant strip.

Any suggestions closer to the city that is easy to get to by tram/train?

Well Blue Train has been tried and found suitable on previous occasions.

Not sure of my roster yet but if I can possibly be there I will be.

Anyone interested?

No idea about venue so looking for suggestions. I will more than likely be staying at Ibis Glen Waverley and will have a hire car.

penegal attending something with drinks? I'm shocked!

(Actually him being in one place at the same time as a meeting is strange enough :P)

Surely some travel to places of interest for our interstate guests can be accommodated though ;)

Can I suggest Basilico? Italian, good wood fired pizza, not too expensive and BYO.

Basilico Albert Park or Basilico Glen Waverley?

Looks OK to me. What do the others on the interested list think?

Italian sounds Good in either location! Good choice!

Looks fine. I like how they build in an element of mystery by presenting menus (mostly) without prices. But I note your comment re prices, and that'll do me. :)
