Hi all, I'm looking at booking flights from MEL-LST with VA. I've never flown that route before. The seat selection page suggests it's an all Y flight, but in rows 1 and 2, there are no B or E seats available for selection, just 1A, 1C, 1D and 1F (it's a 737, with 6 seats per row from row 3 back). Seat Guru describes rows 1 and 2 as Premium Economy with a 2 x 2 configuration. However, PE obviously doesn't exist anymore domestically.

Can anyone advise what the actual seat config is in these rows? Are they J seats, but they just don't sell J fares? I seem to recall the old domestic PE just had the middle seat blocked out, a la Euro Business (or did I imagine that?!). If I'm correct, I can't imagine why they wouldn't have restored this to a standard 6 seat per row configuration.

The reason I ask is, I'm travelling with wife & 2 kids, and definitely do not want to select 1A, 1C, 1D and 1F, and then end up with some randoms in between us in 1B and 1E!

VA don't sell J into LST from either MEL or SYD. One of the perks of being a Platinum with VA on these flights (and SYD-CFS/BNK and a few others) is a J seat with Y service. Provided the flight is operated by a 737 or E90, you'll be right.
