So now they send an email after you book whereas before you got the upgrade option at the time of booking the outdoor long term?

good point... yes they did ... was wonder where that had disappeared to... i have been traveling last few months... first time since xmas i have been offered upgrade.

So how is this? I am off to ZRH on Monday Aug 29 ret Tue Sep 06 - check rates online and cheapest I can see is non flexible LT for $96.43 - that's getting up there right? So I log off and log back on 10 mins later after I realise train, Skybus, taxi etc just aint going to cut it - check rates again exactly same times and up pops $67.93 - I quickly book it and log off - log on 10 mins later and check exact same times again and it shows $96.43 again! WTF?

Mucho interesting. I'm after parking from Aug 30 to Sep 11 and was just about to log in and check rates.
Fingers crossed I'll manage to score a mistake fare ;)

You Melbourites will be more up on this.

I want to pay for parking for someone and I'm not going to be there to use my cc to enter and exit, is it still possible? (in other places you can print off a barcode to scan on entry and exit, but I couldn't see that when I looked at the parking web site for Mel.

Thanks
Matt

Nope, MEL carparks require the credit card used to book.

Booked outselves some parking for an upcoming weekend away; decided to pay a little extra for the short term carpark so save ourselves time getting to and from the car given Friday night peak hour...

I always thought that the case also bc but snooping around site today I discovered you can change the CC used to make the booking to another CC for entry / exit - go onto site and input dates and times and once rates appear click on FAQs top right and all info there - here is a snip:

Good to know. The bits Id read were about using the wrong card, never saw anything about changing it.

Don't know why but I have no luck with MEL airport long term parking this year. Only $7.50 discount for booking non-refundable fare online, really?!

On top of that they are over 50% more expensive than offsite parking. I can save over $40 just for parking 5 minutes further from airport, and I'm also getting a flexible rate!

Boomy, in my experience, MEL airport parking is only discounted significantly if you book quite some time ahead.

Thanks for working that bit out.

This year it is absolutely correct but didn't used to be like that in previous years. I used to book regularly few days prior, often the night before, even up to 6 hours (the cutoff time) and usually get very competitive rates.

Unless the car park is almost full it doesn't make much sense charging 50% more than the competition. It's not like you're being driven by BMW from car park to airport ;) the only differences between MEL airport parking and the competition is spending 5 more minutes in the shuttle so I don't know who in their right mind will pay these inflated rates.

For those who make last minute bookings or just prefer Flexi fares Pacific Parking (formally known as Alpha) currently run 15% "loyal customers discount", no need to open an account or provide credit card.

Discount still not available via their new website so need to call and request it. I've made a booking yesterday for this morning and payed $68 for 13 days.

I just booked for October for $54 for 7.5 (ie. 8) days, as saving of ~ $45

I booked three days prior to travel for $74 for 2.3 (3) days, a "saving" of $5.

Clearly there is a fair bit of dynamic pricing going on!

Jetstar promocode doesn't work anymore as of a month or so ago, anyone aware of other promo codes that still work?
