More likely if there is a major plane delay and things are getting very crowded they may let Platinum One members use the Chairman's Lounge and let the rest put up with the crowding.

That's happened once before in Sydney - earlier this year when the weather down there was really quite bad and there were delays left right and centre. ;)

Yeah, I read about that here so think they could do the same in MEL if there's really bad weather delays.

It also happened in MEL on a very windy day causing a lot of delays.

Standing room only in J lounge last night around 4pm and QP similarly packed. How will they handle this?

And again MrP unable to get a seat in either J or QP last night and grabbed a drink at the bar and left. Flight was delayed half an hour. I know this was because of the Sydney issue but this stuff will always happen. Even standing was crowded!

Hope the weather improves before I fly to SYD next month as I'll be connecting to an international flight there.
