Hi all,
I need an urgent return ticket melbourne to washington (either Reagon or Dulles) for a 3 day trip next week. best I've found are Vaustralia and a qantas/united combo both at $2700 AUD.

Any one have any ideas of sales or cheap tickets ???? :confused:

PS: which of the above would eran more point vaustralia on velocity or qantas/united on oneworld/star alliance ? (though this ain't a priority)

:?::?::?::?::?:

Thanks !

It's gunna be tough to get a flight any cheaper.

The various mid-year School Holidays start at the end of this week and that's a major peak season for fares ex Oz ...

Think you may be out of luck at such short notice. I did notice that V Australia have fare to/from LAX for about $2k return, with the return from LAX-MEL in premium econom (cheaper than coming back in Y). All you have to do then is pick up a fare from LAX to Washington for about $550 USD or less and you've equalled the $2700 but coming back in premium Y.

I am thinking of the qantas-united combo as they allow 2 x 23kg (this is correct for qantas also isn't it?) where as Vaustralia 2 bags up to a total of 32kg (yes i need the extra kgs).

dajob, the Vuastralia ticket from the web site V deal ex-melb, Premium deal ex-Washington for a total of $2700 which what you were referring to I think (premium economy return- correct?)

As it happens I was looking at LAX earlier yesterday evening, so I only saw the LAX fare, V deal ex-MEL, Premium deal ex-LAX (yes that was in premium economy) for just under $2000. I assume the deal you're seeing is the same, but with the domestic sectors LAX-WAS-LAX added in.
