Have made a J Any Seat Award, for Sunday 15 August and have a booking with Hilton South Wharf for the Saturday night.

Got to re-qualify for Platinum some how.

Am planning BNE-SYD-MEL JQ-35 run on the Saturday 14 August, now just seeing if I can round up some friends or a guest.

LOL - Hi jdlover23 - the referenced platinum is a Rydges platinum card I have which is FREQUENTLY used to get a 50% discount on drinks and dinner at Rydges hotels - the last MEL dinner & drinks I attended, we turned a near 900 meal into 450 ish at a flash of the card

haha ok, i once worked for a AHL company and had a Rydges staff discount - but was only valid for the accomodation no discount on food

i just got rid of my Accor card - which i used for food all the time rather than for the cheaper rooms - if collectively as a group had a number of those we could get a good meal at level 35 sofitel in the future...

im def going to make this night - im off to QLD the next morning for a industry convention for a week, so need some alcohol exercises to get into form

This is so tempting, but I should be saving money for my trip in October/November. I say very tempting because it's not often I get to see the vibrant AFF crowd scene down in MEL.

We are still very tight about making it to Quanjude but are certain for Rydges at 7:30pm.

Just finished booking my accommodation and all flights to and from MEL.

I have to hop down to SYD on Friday night; Amex Plat couldn't get me a decent flight for BNE-SYD on the morning of 14 Aug. Staying at the HI SYD Airport overnight, but happy to go into town to meet up with any SYD folk for a late night cap.

I'll be staying at the Hilton MEL SW on Saturday night; on Sunday night staying at the Hilton MEL Airport. Due to arrival time of JQ35, I won't make the pre-event drinks at Lagerfield, but should be in time for the Peking Duck (and looking forward to it indeed!)

All I need now is to check the visa requirements for entry to the People's Republic of Victoria... :mrgreen:
