I know this is Melbourne drinks night but isn't this the day set down for the NSW government elections.

Not that important but thought I would mention it anyway....

From what I see and read this election is going to be a waste of time and money, so maybe they should be cancelled.

Not sure about that Bill, but certainly the result is quite predictable. Democracy is about process and not outcome my simple mind muses.

Shouldn't stop a few people having a drink in Melbourne I would add.....or even Singapore!!!

Personally I believe all elections are a waste of time and money. ;)

Who gets my vote is an even easier choice. I voted for Iemma in the last election (and there has been 2 coups since) and believed he was the right choice all the way through. Unfortunately the morons who think they control politics thought otherwise. I am now voting against the current government. I don't believe in protest votes.

By the way I have now idea who is running and don't care anymore.

Wasn't there a March Melbourne drinks thread somewhere?

Am I crazy or was there talk of drinks in Melbourne in March at some stage? Where'd the thread go?

Re: Wasn't there a March Melbourne drinks thread somewhere?

Glad I wasn't hallucinating.

Why not here in meets? (I know you can't really answer that seeing as you didn't start the thread QF009)
It is now in Meetings and Social Events where it belongs.

I've been given tickets to go to see a preview of Rock of Ages that night so I may have to pass or meet you all for drinks at a venue later in the evening..

I will be a non starter as I will be at around 38,000 feet on my way back from London. Arrive into MEL on Sunday....... Fly back to London on Tuesday.

I hadn't seen this thread before. I may well show up if it goes ahead! (Although it depends on what time the F1 finishes etc)
