Starting a thread so people can post their food from this lounge. Will be a good data point on the average slop and what to expect 🙂. I feel it will be partly comedic.

Mods if this thread already exists let me know.

Anybody been to the dungeon recently. I have a strong fascination for the subpar offerings 🤣. Correct me if I’m wrong and they have done a full 180 and now serve edible food?

Credit where credit's due, they do usually have a good barista on in there. Does coffee count as food?

I haven’t visited for quite a while now. When QF initially reopened after COVID they only had the FLounge open. Also I have done some flying via SYD to earn more SC. I have since got WP back. Hoping to keep progressing quickly towards LTG, then it’ll probably be back to this lounge, if not before.

My +1 really wanted to visit the business dungeon because, unlike the F Lounge, they have a juicer. The agent was a bit bemusedly disbelieving we wanted in. We popped in for a brief look - after spending the preceding hour in the F lounge.

On the side, had the same thing happen to us in Singapore. Had dinner in the F lounge then wondered over to the QP for a look and a glass of awful red. The Gate Guard thought we were lost and offered us directions to the F lounge. The puzzled look he had when we knew where the F lounge was but wanted to come into the QP was great!

When in Singapore, I often pop into the First lounge for a couple of glasses of champagne (pity it's not a great one), and a snack, then head over to the BA lounge, which I think has better food and drinks than the QF J lounge.

I like the satay in the BA lounge

Honest question (from someone who tries to generally avoid the Qantas ecosystem): I know that the setting of the MEL international business lounge is inferior to other Qantas international business lounges. Can the same actually be said of the food & beverages as well?

On a recent visit mid morning a couple weeks ago, there was a server going around and offering French toast with berries, it was ok, nothing memorable.

No. The food and beverages are pretty much on par with SYD & BNE INTL J.

The main problem is lack of natural light, hence the term dungeon.

Was in the dungeon a couple of weeks ago. Plate of the day was toast, fried egg, spinach, mushrooms and sriracha mayo. It was fine and in isolation, decent.

The problem was that, upon arrival to SIN, I went to the QR lounge which as a business lounge is arguably better than the SIN QF F lounge, and came to realise that the dungeon was sorely lacking. Having experienced the J/F-only QR lounge, there’s clearly an argument to be made that status-based access could be diluting the experience…

Would definitely agree with this. Much easier to sit and get work done in the slightly more subdued lighting of the QR lounge. Topper food, I just have a personal preference for QF F for dining in SIN. QR for the generous spirit pours at the bar every day of the week though.

Hopefully at some point if there’s an extension/renovation of the international terminal a better space can be found.
