Anyone noticed that the Melbourne Dom Bus Centre PCs are very slow...
Was having serious trouble getting my work email to load (admittedly a tricky Citrix/Java combo) but frankly it loads quicker on dialup.

Also what is the joke of the Telstra advertising of the wireless broadband on those PCs -- do they really think someone is going to read the ad and go - uh ok I won't use this free terminal, instead i'll lug laptop to the QP and pay Telstra exorbtinate amounts for the privelage
(since Telstra took those SkyNetGlobal APs, the costs have gone up, despite the cost of wireless equipment and broadband conncetions going down)

Actually you could insert any QP into that comment...

My recollection is that this subject was discussed over on the Qantas Forum on Flyertalk about 3-6 months ago. IIRC, Qantas have some "deal" where everything goes to the US and is then routed back here (don't ask me the specifics, I'm not a computer person).

Othes may recall the thread and be able to give more specifics...

IME, BNE Dom QP Internet Bandwidth is shocking; MEL tends to be quite reasonable in comparison.
