I currently have 149,663 Qantas FF points that I am wishing to use for a trip to Europe.

I need to be in Split on 24th June and will be able to depart from Belgrade anytime after 4pm on 11th July.

From what I can see I am going to need to make a stop-over somewhere and my preference would be London.

What would be my best options getting to and departing the above locations around these dates?

Thanks :)

No problem getting to London. London --> Split only has award tickets on the 20th of June so you're probably better off buying a one way ticket - though pretty expensive around the 24th.

Coming home, should be possible to go Belgrade-Doha-Bangkok in business class then Bangkok --> Melbourne (on Jetstar :( ), leaving Belgrade on the 13th of July (there's a flight on the 11th too, but it is too early in the day).

Once you factor in the cost of the taxes you may find it isn't worth using your points for the economy flights.

Edit: Sorry, thought you had more points. You probably won't have enough to do the business class flight ex Belgrade :(

I think you may find it difficult to get award seats AU to EU as this is AU school holidays and European summer, and a lot of Europeans travel to coastal Croatia at this time so fares are getting rather expensive now.

Carriers that fly direct to Split generally have only 2/3 flights a week. If London is your preferred stopover then BA have flights to SPU on Mon/Wed/Sun which doesn't work well for you for a Thu arrival (23 June). I would recommend looking at flying to Zagreb instead and then get a 50min internal flight with Croatia Airlines. BA have daily flights LHR to ZAG leaving 8:15 returning 12:30 from ZAG and Croatia Airlines have a number of flights a day ZAG to SPU and their domestic fares are very good value, often you can get them for AU$50-65 and they currently have 23 June evening flight for ~$AU80. They fly mostly Dash8-400s domestically but some are tags to international flights through ZAG so you can sometimes get an A319/320. It is very easy to book flights on their website in English, and easy to contact by phone or email if you need to change with customer service speaking very good English. I travel yearly to Croatia and often do it this way.

Getting from Belgrade you may want to consider buying a one way flight from BEG. If you do decide to go via ZAG to SPU then Air Serbia have a direct flight to ZAG at 18:25 on 11 July for ~AU$115. Means you have to overnight in ZAG but there are options near the airport with good rates compared to other EU cities. BA have award availability LHR-ZAG on 22 June and ZAG-LHR on 12 July, or AU$290 outright, or return 23 Jun/12 July for ~$AU480. You can also overnight in Belgrade and get Air Serbia direct to LHR at 10:25 on 12 July for ~AU$185.
