Finally come through the set up this morning. No priority line but not needed. Thought it would be much busier being holidays, but relatively quiet (guess the extra long weekend had an effect here in Vic). Overall a very pleasant experience with the new x-ray scanners and even though I didn't mind security after the lounge visit, it's nice to have it out of the way and a peaceful walk down to the gate later.

Arrived through T3 on Saturday morning from BNE and noticed the better flow through now that security has been moved to T4 - there isn't the narrow chicane to get out from gates 1-10. Virgin lounge was it's usual busy self, but not chockas.
Watched my beloved Swans cop the axe on Saturday afternoon and then came back Monday morning for the "new and upgraded" departure experience. The walk from Skybus down to T4 is a PITA - it's a pity that there isn't an easy way for them to exit the Freeway, do a dropoff at T4, pickup at T3 and then drop off at T1/T2. Admittedly I don't know their scheduling and whether they layover at the airport or Southern Cross (or both), but anywho...
Security was an absolute breeze - no queue at priority line, put my backpack and carry bag on top of my jacket and then walked through. My backpack was singled out for secondary inspection, however security didn't even open it - just checked through the images a little closer and I was on my way. Makes a chance from the clusterf!!! that is SYD at the moment. Virgin Lounge was quite full, however service was good and coffee was quicker than BNE or SYD have been of late.
All in all, a smooth experience - would recommend :)
