Thanks to Tommy we might be in. Have to check with MrP who is of course, currently flying. So what is the deal here with Champagne? BYO French or something?

Rule is BYO one (or more if you're feeling generous) bottle of Champagne. Not sparkling wine.

This is NOT a competition.

The aim is to have a good time enjoying Champagne with some good company.

Sadly I must now decline. GPH has made me take a reality check. Travelling alone in a wheelchair probably isn’t going to be as easy as I thought, and he can’t accompany me (something about a rugby game and front row seats).

What a waste of Double SCs on the trip down, and MEL Int FLounge on the leg home. Shame there aren’t any other ALH’s out there to fly in my place

I'm not sure such a loophole will cut it with the organizers - all though I'd reckon they would happily accept a sample 'Californian Champagne' brought alongside a more traditional version of Champagne.
:D
Cheeky.

It’s ok. It’s French or it’s sparkling in my books. Cruise lines serve the Californian stuff and call it Champagne because they can do so legally. The only people who acknowledge it as champagne are the Americans. Brits and Aussies etc ask for the real deal or refer to it as sparkling.

Happy to Chauffeur Drive in Melbourne if that helps!? I can always use good karma points.

If there was a way to dislike this I would :(

Thank you so much for your kind offer. I’ve just declined another. I have a cracked rib and extensive grazes and bruises which make it pretty difficult to move around even with a wheel chair. Not to mention I won’t be able to manage in the hotel room during the night. However, I really truly love the community spirit here. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Going to miss having you there ♥️

Even if I weren’t attending the Bledisloe Cup in BNE , I wouldn’t be happy about her undertaking this trip even with me as support.
A trip to our local G.P. for a dressing change was a major logistical exercise.
As it is, our planned November excursion to NZ will require Doctors approval.
And we are travelling in J (EK) from BNE. A “BIG” suv is on hire and we have already had to phone ahead to check that we are able to have wheelchair access to our hotels and trip to Tamaki Village. (Rotorua) .

Grovelling apologies; I had forgotten that I'd even expressed interest in this. Flying out for a Trip Report via SYD on the Monday, so I'll have to pike, sorry.

Tommy - list me as highly likely.

Doing a garage sale that day, but should be all over with adequate time for me to drive home, shower, and stumble to Toppys.
