If anyone is looking for a decent accommodation in the CBD for a reasonable price, the new Meriton on Herschel street is a good option.
I just finished a 2 nights stay there at 150$ per night for 1bd city view apartment.
The building is brand new and the apartment was nice and clean with separate bathroom & toilet, fully equipped kitchen and large living room with dining table and working desk (1gb free wifi). There was nice open view to the city & river.

I know they don't have an exec lounge or loyalty program but considering its half price compared to the rest of the decent hotels in the CBD (at this time of the year) and the apartment is twice the size of a hotel room, I think it's a good deal.

Good to hear that boomy, I got it for $130pn because it is "under construction" for February though. We'll see how it goes.

I was there for two nights in mid-October. $96.50 per night. There is construction noise starting early in the morning - an external lift that goes by regularly - you can sort of hear the swish. I was there for a conference so I was already awake and working each morning. Being out of the room most of the day I didn't care too much about the noise but if you are there for holidays and want to sleep in .....

The room was nice and big. Everything was of course brand new. It was a Meriton however - a bit of the sink came away in my hand and you can't open the wardrobe door without closing the bedroom door.

It's all quiet now as the building is almost finished but for 96.50 per night for such a nice apartment in the CBD I would compromise with some noise ;)

It's an excellent option and a short stroll from Roma street train station. Those prices have been consistent over the months but I imagine won't last for long.
Gambaros on Caxton st are currently building their boutique hotel also

"Launching in 2014, Gambaro Hotel is Brisbane’s newest luxury boutique hotel, and represents a new era in Gambaro hospitality and boutique accommodation.

With an enviable location located in the heart of Brisbane’s Caxton Street precinct, Gambaro Hotel is primed to be the sole luxury accommodation in its locality.

Situated adjacent to the multi award winning Gambaro Restaurant and Function Centre, in a purpose-built 4 storey building, the hotel offers a premium location unlike any luxury hotel accommodation in Brisbane"

Meriton Herschel St. February sale:
CUBE apartment $79.75
1 brd apartment $82.50
1 brd apartment with city view $85.25
Very good value compared to the big hotels who usually raise their prices in Feb.
