Hmmm - over 80k flown miles in 5 weeks, I guess could call that madness  Is there any interest in another trip report?

I've also had some longhaul trips in between the "month of madness" series and the next lot for christmas/new year.

Always interest in another trip report. Maybe call it "Month of Madness II" and leave a "to be continued" twist at the end of the trip report. :D

I would love to do a trip report but first I wouldn't remember what I was doing most of the time and second it goes something like this, "drink, drink, sleep, drink, meet someone you'll never remember, drink, drink, sleep, drink, meet someone else you won't remember, drink, drink, sleep, come home". I am sure I have some food along the way as well. :?

Yep - really interested if you have the time 8) . Which reminds me (again) perhaps now I can find the time to finish my tiny 1759 mile cough TR. I've been back there a couple of times since then and can add further commentary regarding the Hyatt etc.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

....to all. Thanks to everyone on the board, I have learnt a lot this year.

Have fun in Thailand. I'll see what I can do about a trip report.
Thanks Kiwi Flyer.

I am planning to have fun in Thailand as usual.

Shame we are not in SIN on the same dates. We'll catch up somewhere along the way. Enjoy your trips and the festive season. All the best for the new year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I look forward to another year of learning and sharing.

It's Xmas lunch and i find myself on-line booking a ticket  . Anyway, hope no-one sees this message soon, and everyone is off enjoying today with their family. As for me, I'm off to a party after :D . Once again, Merry Christmas :!:

I'd like to thank Qantas Yield Management who obviously considered that Mrs LW and I were worthy of sitting in the pointy end on our BNE/LAX sector tomorrow...and a great CSA John on the phone tonight.

It's currently showing Y oversold (-2) and J3, so at 3.13pm this afternoon (John was able to tell me the exact time) YM kindly traded 144K of my FF points for a better seat. Being oversold in Y helped....

Only seats available in J were 25JK, so at the back of J we'll be.

Still a nice Christmas present for you and Mrs LW.

No such luck for me. My flight looks quite empty and here I was just hoping of a free (note not using points I don't have) upgrade. Just hope no platinums or golds on the flight. :(

On A330 23B is not the pits anyway.

None too shabby; just stick you feet to the right beside the bulkhead and stetch out 8) .

(Just don't trip any FA's or get you feet mashed by a serving trolley).

Seated in 23A the other day, I was wondering why a bulkhead anyway... there's nothing but an exit/door on the other side of the panel. :?:

I forgot that I have put on a lot of weight since last flight in June and couldn't fit properly in 23B.

Lucky for my row 24 centre only had on person in aisle so I quickly changed to that and there we 2 of us with 2 seats empty in middle.

22D on MD-11 I think will be torture for me later.

Remind me to lose weight before next trip

Good thing too. 23B is a seat QF favour giving me on the bus, so I would hate it if I got a seat damaged by you :)

Don't worry I swapped seats so some pretty young thing sat there later.

Hope you get your cheap thrills now.

And seat not damaged.

This ended up perfectly as there was no-one seated in 22E.

Here is a tip for anyone ever flying cattle class on an MD-11. Seat 21C is the best as there is nothing in front of you and you can stretch your legs forever without getting in anyone's way.

It's been a few years since I flew on an MD-11. It was on TG - is that who you were flying with?

Methinks it was Finnair (AY098). You can get SIN-BKK-SIN for about AUD250 on MD11's. As well you get Full Economy SC's (30) and FF points (min 1,000) each way.

Here's a seat map for the aircraft: FINNAIR - MD-11, you can see where the fabled 21C is!

Happy New Year from sunny Jamaica. It's 4.11pm on New Years Day over here and seems really strange to be "behind" in celebrating it. Didn't see any television coverage of the celebrations elsewhere in the world, we were too busy celebrating... yeah mon, no problems.
