MH to be Privatised [delisted]

I flew KUL-CGK and the flight was 100% full, so I guess there are some profitable regional routes. The question is if an airline can survive doing only KUL-CGK:p

This is not surprising, only 738's and plenty of business traffic between the two cities. Based on my experience flying a couple of times SIN-MEL return on MH since MH 370 went missing, the loads on the 3 out of the 4 KUL/MEL sectors were very low, yet 3 out of 4 KUL/SIN sectors were virtually full.

When booking my flights and looking at expert flyer it seemed their ability to sell more seats on long haul were constrained by capacity at key times on the shorter connecting flights. MH use only 737's on their regional connections, but look at SQ, TG, and CX who use a mix of wide and narrow bodies on their regional flights (counting MI, KA & Thai smiles flights as well as mainline carrier).

Was on an almost full domestic flight today. And by the number of pax coming off the inbound flight, it was quite full too.

I understand that Flight Centre (and maybe others), were given very good bonuses by MH to sell MH seats., maybe that explains it as I didn't notice the fares actually getting much cheaper.

Just finalised some bookings for our end of year trip including an Enrich Award KUL-BNE leg in J for 2 in mid-January and noticed when playing around with the search that awards were open for up to 9 J seats ! (the limit of online booking).

Flew KUL-BNE on Monday and the flight was full except for a few seats in J class - which became the subject of a heated argument between 2 passengers 4.5 hours into the flight and I thought we'd be diverted but that's a different story...

What the hell happened?? Was it alcohol-fuelled?

Sounds like a great story.

How ironic that I've just finished watching an episode of Air Crash Investigations on TV, and here I am bringing to you the Air Rage Investigation on MH135:

I was seated at 1K and there was a family of 5 seated at 1A/1C (with bassinet) and 2A/2C. At first the middle seats 1D/1G were empty but just before we took off, a couple moved there from 5D/5G. All good until about 4.5 hours into the flight...

I was drifting in and out of sleep when I heard someone raising his voice (yes, it must have been loud as I even had my headphones on). It was Mr 2C arguing with Mr 1D. I heard something like "my son" and "your seat" so I assumed he wanted the middle seats in row 1 so that his young son could sit there. Mr 2C sounded drunk to me as I thought he was slurring his words. This went on until 2 male cabin crew had to step in between them in case they got into a fist fight. In the end, the couple vacated the middle seats in row 1 and the cabin crew helped them move all their belongings back to row 5. All the while I was wondering why it took 4.5 hours for Mr 2C to make a fuss if he had wanted those seats? And I dreaded the thought of having to divert somewhere. After that it was all "calm" except Master 2A was running up and down the aisle and was everywhere but those row 1 middle seats. He ended up sitting with Mrs 1C but it didn't look like he was strapped in during the final descent and kept pressing the call button then. And my colleague at work reckoned I would have the whole business class cabin to myself! How I wish it had been the kids-free cabin on the MH A380.

Dare I even ask what nationality the family were???

Actually I couldn't tell from the way they spoke even though they were of Asian descent. I didn't wait to see which immigration queue they joined and we were all given express cards anyway...
