We used it 10 days ago as SG and had no trouble. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Nice comfortable lounge with good wifi, but not much to eat unless you buy it. We received drinks vouchers, I think - every lounge has been different, when it comes to drinks! We were flying AA Miami to New Orleans.
QF Emeralds, Sapphires and QP members are entitled to drink chits for premium beverages. Complimentary basic beer, wine and spirits are available to anyone in the lounge over 18.

I do similarly. If I find someone looking particularly frazzled (preferably having had a drink already so I know it's going to a worthy cause) I say cheekily "here, looks like you could use a drink!" and hand them the chit with a smile. Amazing the responses i've had. Some almost jump out of their chairs and hug me
