Hi all
I have never been to Miami and we will probably have most of a day free to look around.
Any favourites or suggestions?
Thanks

Had a day late 2016, spent it at the South Beach area wandering, people watching, bit of photography and eating. Weather was still warm enough to swim, bus goes directly from the airport to main drag for about $2.50.

I would agree, South Beach is the way to go, small enough to appreciate if only there for a day and easy access to the airport. If you are there for dinner would head to Espanola Way, a bit commercial but also a good atmosphere.

Most of the day? How many hours?

1. South beach.....alot of walking.... To see stuff
Walk into motels like you own the place and pool parties going on.

2. If you want to drive get a hire car and head south! There is a free app to get Miami key West drive really good! But it's all day trip!

3. It's a big city and they say to stay away from a certain area.....

4. Watch a Cruise ship come in on South beach....

Is this with kids or just adults? Keen on outlet shopping (think Dolphin Mall)? Or seeing the beach?

Will you be arriving from Australia that day? If so, you may well find that with jetlag everything is a misery!

Thanks everyone for the advice.
After a cancelled flight on Tue and delayed flight Wed, my associate and I arrived 11pm Wed night. Meeting all day Thursday.
So we went for a 2 hour walk and coffee Friday morning at South Beach, then airport and home.
Still havent really seen Miami

... you didn't miss much, in my opinion.

What a miserable city. Okay, there must be some nice parts ... but after a week there I was very ready to leave ...

Good Latin food, but other than that, found it all very unpleasant. Didn't want to post before you went though!

That's why it's best to head to Key West! Rockin and that drive is just like "True Lies" the movie.....amazing!
