What an amazing product! EK did it once with bling bling suites and showers, now it's EY's turn to set the new benchmark for First Class.

Gulf countries are competing for prestige and AFF savvy pax are the big winners :)

Methinks it's QR turn to up the ante next ;)

EY have well and truly blown everyone else out of the water with these Apartments !
Thanks for the effort you went to of putting up a great trip report, can't wait to fly them myself.

Definitely interested in seeing the photos and reading about the experience of EY F Apartments. I currently have an EY B789 BNE-AUH J reward seat booking next year, but I was initially hoping to get to the A380 F Apartment but nothing was available. Will keep monitoring and I'd love to be able to experience this.

Alright due to popular demand ...
After catching up with my best friend who is currently based in Abu Dhabi, my next flight was on to Doha for a two day side trip.
The aircraft was an Etihad A320 so while there was still Bollinger in business I didn't take any photos onboard.
On the drive from the airport to the hotel in the new part of Doha I passed through the old city and the port.

The Hilton in Doha treated me very well as a Diamond HH guest with a room upgrade and provided charming canapés on arrival.

I took the Doha hop-on hop-off bus but there aren't really a lot of things to see. It's a lot like Dubai.
One interesting thing in the cultural centre was these pigeon towers.
They are a traditional Qatari structure for collecting fertiliser.

The Museum of Islamic Art is back near Doha Port and the old city and surprised me. It was absolutely amazing both in its art and above all in its architecture.

The MIA entrance.

From the grand window and the café you could see the new city of Doha across the bay.

The grand window of the MIA is indeed grand.
