Thanks for the trip report FM. Just got back from a short trip to Fiji ourselves. We had a short stopover on the way back from Canada (I might write my own TP eventually when I get time). We stayed at the Sofitel, also on Denarau Island and coincidentally also did the trip on Whale Tales. You are definitely correct about the alcohol being free flowing! Our return flight was in FJ J on the 330 and it was quite nice for a daytime flight. The Nadi Airport was 'interesting' with all the construction works going on. Should be nice when it is all finished though. Overall we enjoyed ourselves, but would probably look at staying on one of the offshore islands if we were to return.

Yes I agree I think one of the islands would be good - lots to choose from!

The crew were very pleasant and lunch (although small portions) was tasty. We settled down to watch movies, but became very thirsty. There was only one tiny glass of water offered with lunch. Towards the end of the flight the crew came though with cans of soft drink and I requested water.

Just out of interest - were drinks not available (even on request) for the rest of the flight?

Have no idea - I feel sure that if I had pressed my button, or gone back to the galley, I could have requested a drink. I generally only drink water or champagne on planes and I am used to getting a bottle of water and being offered another, so have never felt thirsty before. I was just thinking about pressing my call button, when the FA walked past offering soft drinks, so that is when I requested water.

Last time I travelled economy internationally was 2000, so I am probably incompetent at what to do to get drinks

On on the return flight the FAs came through a number of times with a big bottle of water offering to refill the small cups, so I think the first crew were just a little slack.
