eek - I did a helicopter ride and went out to Livingstone Island - that is enough adventure for 60 something. Must admit it looks incredible......

So just catching up on this wonderful TR as part of our planning for our trip in Feb/Mar 17.

I looked at the Royal Livingstone and it appears that it is no longer part of Sun Hotels; if so, it's now an Anantara (https://www.gha.com/Anantara/Royal-Livingstone-Resort/)

It would appear that its sister property (Zambesi Sun) is now an Avani (https://www.gha.com/AVANI-Hotels-Resorts/AVANI-Victoria-Falls-Resort/).

Can anyone confirm these are the same hotels?

Also, has anyone stayed at the Protea?

Thanks FM; both look nice but the Royal Livingstone sure knows how to charge:shock:. Do you know if the Sundeck is open to guests who are not staying?

Also both of the (new) chains are part of GHA which of course is in bed with Rydges where I have status so I will have a closer look.

We stayed at the Zambezi Sun. For a few nights it was fine though it is definitely a step below the Royal Livingstone. We had no complaints.

when we were there guests could use all facilities. Zambezi Sun guests could have a drink or meals at Royal Livingstone and charge back to their rooms. We really enjoyed the Royal Livingstone, but you were actually closer to the falls at Zambezi Sun. You don't have the water views from Zambezi Sun but it is only a short walk to get them.
