Expected to launch in the second half of 2024.

Seat capacity on the aircraft will be reduced from the standard 138 seats down to 108 to provide a more comfortable journey.

They've previous used Skytraders A319 for similar services, though the seat count was quoted as 150 to 110.

😳 The mining industry has come a very long way since I used to drive my four-wheel-drive for a day to get somewhere and then camp under the nearest suitable gum tree.

With MinRes Air set to take off within months, the company is now recruiting experienced captains, first officers, flight attendants, ground handling crew and management to support the new service.
May be some people on the market seeking employment. But may not be qualified for airbus.

Reducing the seats would increased the theoretical range. And may reduce the FA's needed.

Well MinresAir has had its first flight unfortunately the full details are behind a paywall on "The West Australian" site. However it flew to two mine sites and covered a distance of 3,600km. They used an A319 which had the number of seats reduced from 144 to 114. The seat pitch ranged from 94cm to 96.5cm (37" to 38") - luxury! The seat numbers are different in the latest report compared to the older Minres press release below. But either way it will be comfortable aircraft to fly on.

I think we should hope that they decide to become a new domestic airline - of course they are not that silly.

I think they are wet leasing the Skytraders A319, they don’t have a AOC yet.

The Skytraders A319 is ex Tiger Singapore, carries the leather seating. However 114 seats in the A319 is quite generous!

All about accessing an East Coast workforce for MinRes and offering them better rosters and conditions as a point of differentiation, although the knee-crunching Qantas Network fleet of FIFO A320's operating out of Perth wouldn't of enamored the FIFO workforce either, plus the dreadful transcon product at sky high fares from PER to the East Coast offered by QF and VA at the moment and the expensive Perth hotel rooms might have contributed.

MinRes Air have their own A320 for a couple of months - VH-8FE, did a hop Mel-Per and back and been in the hanger since late Sept.

And things haven't been great for MIN since May with the share price halving, and the CEO being forced out under a financial scandal
