Miss TomCat Flies First

Knowing you have a lovely home to come back to I’m thinking you will be looking forward to coming back.

What I don't understand is why the First class lounge has a champagne trolley by the front desk if they don't offer it to their first class customers... 🙄

Upon entering the lounge we headed straight for the showers; they kindly prepped the accessible/family room for us which meant we could park the pram and take turns rather than having consecutive shower bookings. And Miss TC had a full outfit change for to an unfortunate incident 😭

Once done we headed to the dining area, whey we'd noticed that one side was busy while the other was empty with reserved signs on the tables. We were approached by a staff member who asked if we were CL or P1. I replied no, but we flying First. She scanned our boarding passes quickly, noted the OWE status then seated us on the busy side of the dinning area 😳

We'd barely sat down and looked at the menu when another staff member hurried over apologizing and offering to move us to one of the reserved tables. Who were we to say no?

I had the poke to start which was delicious.

Unfortunately I didn't get to finish it add the main appearec rather quickly and my poke was spirited away 😔

At this point Miss TC commenced a full meltdown (past her bedtime) so we were ushered into one of the private rooms with our meals. There we were able to get her settled on a couch for some much needed sleep while we had some much needed champagne....

While waiting for our delayed boarding I popped out of the suite and a gentleman outside the door exclaimed ‘what’s in there?!’ My response of ‘a sleeping baby’ shut down the rather loud conversation he’d been having 😂

Boarding was called minutes later and there was a mass exit from the lounge. We transferred the still sleeping Miss to the pram and headed to the lift. A number of other passengers decided to be opportunistic and cram in the lift with us rather than take the nearby escalator, then one ‘gentleman’ had a hissy fit that I wasn’t moving right to the back of the lift 🙄 he stopped when someone pointed out there was in fact a pram there. There certainly are some entitled people around....

Boarding was a bit messy; they now have smart gates at the boarding gate and unfortunately the First boarding line is on the opposite side to the manual processing line. So we had to push across past the Y line. All our troubles were soon forgotten once we stepped through the door. I parked the pram in my suite, was greeted by the crew and promptly served a welcome glass of champagne (Taittinger CDC). Rumours of J champagne on the ground were put to rest.

The crew were happy for Miss TV to remain asleep in the pram until the very last minute, and when it was time to go, one FA helped TV carefully transfer her to my lap so she could continue to sleep through takeoff. We were 56 minutes late departing as there was a broken toilet somewhere down the back and it took longer than expected to fix (the crew had been told it was fixed when it wasn’t).
