Ok- so does thatmean still only a partial participation?

Seems they are now following sydney and Melbourne. You can earn points and get all plat benefits except lounge access

Did a stay at Sofitel Bne on Friday night. Asked on check-in what benefits a Plat gets, was told an upgrade to next room class and a delivery of a amenity pack. Was told definitely no Club access unless a club room is booked. I think room types were superior room, luxury room, club room and junior suite. I booked a superior and was upgraded to a luxury, don't think there is any difference except the luxury rooms are on a higher floor, and the amenity was......3 small, inedible bits of cake the size of my thumb nail. Just wait now and make sure points post, if not I'll be back to the Pullman.

p.s oh, and no newspaper delivery

thanks eric2011. Doesn't inspire confidence.

Ive booked two nights in Brisbane at Sofitel in a couple of weeks. They were both freebies. One via my Amex Platinum Reserve and one using an Accor Advantage Plus free night. The later is our first night and I spent some more $ to get lounge that night. I wonder what they'll end up giving us with our Platinum status.....hoping they might bestow lounge for both nights but maybe Im being overly hopeful.

Ive stayed at the BNE Sofitel many times and all the rooms are the same essentially. They put in a different chair, a Nespresso machine if you're lucky and change the floor and suddenly you're in a Luxury Room rather than a Classic.

But it is in a convenient location.

Bit of a joke really. The old Claytons status program. They already lost our entire companies business due to the inconsistent benefits and recognition. Oh well, Hiltons gain. I still try and stay personally from time-to-time, but NEVER at a Sofitel.
