If QF dilutes benefits it will be for all not just those that get "elite" atatus cheaply.

Nobody said anything about diluting benefits

As I said earlier you can pay $50,000 per year for your Platinum status and I will pay $3,000 for my Platinum status and when we are flying we will get exatly the same benefits, same food, same seats. Pretty much the same service.

Who cares how much we each spend. I don't.

The post I replied to wanted QF to enhance benefits and "give something back to QF's elite flyers"

However, if those elite flyers have never given anything to QF in the first place then I don't see QF spending any additional money on elites. That's just simple business.

huh?

Why should QANTAS offer increased benefits to its "elites" (as previous poster has suggested) when those elites provide next-to-no profit to QANTAS? Someone has to fund those benefits...

I think what people were trying to suggest was that if there was another airline (Like DJ) who were a threat to QF, maybe QF might bring back some benefits to elites that have been eroded in the past.
Selecting an Exit Row for QF WP's for starters.
If DJ introduced a J or F product, say SYD-BNE, and at a better price, QF would most probably match it. So, more competition = better for consumers.
Joining QFF program might also be fee free, like almost every other airline in the world. It's free to join DJ Velocity.

Mind you, l also agree that some of the mentality of the DJ staff need to grow up, l'm over the jokes. DJ is also somewhat torn between trying to be a LCC and a normal airline. It also needs to join a global alliance and have more lounges in more cities.

Just my 2 cents.
