I like to sit as close to the front of the plane as possible.

As a silver frequent flyer on Qantas, I don't get access to rows 4-10 in economy usually when I book, as I think these are reserved for Gold and above. With Qantas, I usually wait exactly 80 hours before departure and then I can select those seats (ie. move to row 4) if it's available. Often I'm successful at doing this.

Does Virgin Australia do this as well? I am currently Bronze Red for VA.

No, these first three rows of economyhave extra pitch and are marketed as "economy X" seats.

VA sell these seats at a premium, which also includes priority boarding.

Anyone with an economy booking can purchase them.

They are complimentary for VA WP.
