Moving overseas with Amex

I'm potentially relocating to the US for a couple of years and was wondering what support, if any, I can expect from Amex in terms of transitioning from an Aus Platinum charge to a US one?

Will I have to re-substantiate income requirements and reapply for a card thru the US arm or is it in fact possible to arrange this prior to moving thru Amex Australia?

FWIW, my current card is up for renewal in December and I would be moving around the same time so would be highly reluctant to pay the Australian annual fee to keep the card given I would be transacting in US dollars almost exclusively thereafter.

The US AMEX website provides a portal for this to occur so hopefully this provides enough information to help with the move.
