MrsWF needs cheap QFF squiggles

So am looking to get 4 segments PER-DPS-SIN-KUL-SIN ahead of a exJapan DONE3
Which brings Jetstar in its various forms into view.

1. Do 3K flights ex SIN booked as QF codes in conjunction with QF flights earn a squiggle?
Not that fussed with total point earns. Fallback option as fourth squiggle would come at
the end of the DONE3 so no status bonuses on AA later in the trip.
2. Will Jetstar book a double connection?
Both J* and QF will do PER-SIN-KUL --- No direct J* flights on the day PER-SIN
but J* PER-DPS-SIN-KUL turns out to be feasible... at least timewise, if clearing SIN
immigration is not required. And Sepang hotels are a lot less costly than in Singapore
And would save an extra overnight in SIN to book SIN-KUL-SIN separately
3. For a same day turnaround, would both 3K boarding passes be available in SIN?

This is not true.

It is unclear from the QF website that through flights with a 3K tag (with or without QF flight #)what the actual earnings will be.... ie is it an eligible flight?
Transfers in SIN have happened in the past and seems from conversations online with JQ that they will transfer in DPS as well. My question was whether anyone had success with 2 international transfers on one PNR

I asked with online Jetstar chat about the double connection since it would be difficult for Mrs WF to make a QF 71 to 3k 90 minute airside bus connection (t1 - t4 in Singapore)
Their reply concerning JQ110->3K242-> 3K687
In this case you can proceed with the booking with the third party then contact us back to add code so our airport staff will be notified that she will be bringing assistive device, we will also create a case to attach on the booking, There will be a journey support to be assigned as well; so you have to have a booking first.
any suggestions about third party TAs willing / able to book Jetstar and confirm through connections and Flex Plus options....

Any Qantas Group operated flight which earns status credits will earn you a squiggle towards Qantas status. Quoting the terms of Qantas Frequent Flyer:

A minimum of four eligible flights must be taken with Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ, 3K, GK) flight numbers on your ticket

Indeed it is a popular myth that you have to fly to Australia to earn Qantas status. Taking some cheap Jetstar Japan flights or Jetstar Asia flights within the region will do the tricky just nicely as would a domestic JetStar flight out of Kiwiland.

To your point about booking a JetStar flight as a Qantas flight I frankly don't see the point and just see drawbacks here. For one thing, if booked as a QF flight, it's unclear whether you would earn status credits whereas if you book direct you know exactly which fare you are booking and consequently what you'll be earning. Second, JetStar does not do connections, that's a popular misconception people have. If you check a bag with JetStar you'll have to recheck it at every point. This is true even when flying solely with JetStar itself. And I know this first hand flying Darwin to Sydney via Adelaide.

In NZ the lowest JQ domestic starter flights earn points but not SC's. Unlike in AU where the equivalent would earn nil QF points and nil QF SC's

If the classic rewards earn status credits then yes. In other words if you hold Points Club status and are on a QF marketed classic award flight (i.e. has a QF flight number). So something like London Heathrow to Singapore on a QF classic award flight as a Points Club member would earn you a squiggle.

You are right, although some clarification is needed here. Here is what JetStar has to say about through check bags:

Please be aware that we don’t transfer your baggage between flights. However, there are some exceptions:

• Connecting international Jetstar flights and flights with our partner airlines (see list below), where both international flights were purchased on the same booking
• Domestic flights in Japan connecting to international flights operated by American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines and Qantas, where both flights were purchased on the same booking
