Multiple EDR cards

I had one account for the family for a while and initially one of my friends was using the account as well. Once I learnt how targeted offers work and figured out how to get bonus points I realised we were all better off by having separate accounts. Now we have an account for each member of the family and my friend has her own account. Overall we're making a lot more in bonus points and fuel offers. Once a year we pool all the points into one account and redeem the rewards we want.

It takes time to organise and manage individual accounts but I feel that it is worth it for our family. I can understand that some families prefer the convenienc of one account, so it is best to make the right decision for your family.

I've only just realised that my wife's EDR card (linked to mine) is not actually accruing QFF points on my account! Aaarghh!
I just assumed it would do that once linking, but it only links it for the purposes of collecting fuel vouchers. I discovered this as I activated a bonus points promotion and got her to make the purchase on her EDR card.
Will have to check whether her QFF account is linked or whether all the points have been going into a blackhole.

Seems it might be better to get her own card for more targeted promotions. But will be more difficult to administer as she has zero interest in this kind of thing.

From the everyday rewards website under FAQ:
Will I earn Qantas Points from Everyday Rewards cards that are linked to mine?
No. Linking your cards lets you share fuel saving vouchers but not points. Any points you earn on your card are transferred to the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership in your name.

Yeah it was something I didn't take notice of cos I never logged into the EDR account, only the QFF account (which isn't itemised). Anyway I just joined the community and have a new OCD interest, so this shouldn't kind of thing shouldn't catch me off guard again!

I have an app on the iphone called Stocard in which I have scanned many cards including the EDR card. I can just open it and scan the barcode from there. I also have those nuisance cards like chemist cards etc that I certainly don't want to carry around stored there. I have attached a partial screenshot image.

Edit - it also displays the number at the bottom

Awesome, awesome app. Thanks for the idea.

Surprised this hasn't got more traction... I hate having cards in my wallet. I can't wait for near field technology to be rolled out - then I will have no cards in my wallet!
