Multiple Ticket numbers for the same booking - Should I cancel?

Hi All,

Following the plethora of threads about QF Awards being cancelled for various reasons I'm a little worried about a planed QF Award I've got booked next year and I'm looking for some advice on what to do;

Several months ago I booked an award ticket Businesses class ticket JFK-HEL-BKK with AY. Since then I've had a number of schedule changes. One of those schedule changes wouldn't accept on the QF website so after three days of trying I checked the booking (using the QF reference number) on the AY website, found the booking and accepted the changes there. The changes were accepted straight away.

- AY sent me a new itinerary immediately that had the same ticket number (starting with 081-2327......) as the ORIGINAL itinerary
- Three days later QF sent me a new itinerary that had a new ticket number (also 081-2327.....)

Should I be worried that QF have reissued what appears to be a new ticket number? Or is it normal for QF to reissue a new ticket due to a schedule change?

I'm a little worried that somehow I've got two reservations or QF will do something only QF can do and cancel the booking. As I say, the booking reference numbers are the same.

Thanks all :)

I’d “expect” the QF ticket number to be the correct one.

Have you tried going back to the AY site and once in the mange booking go -> passenger details -> eticket and document details. See if the new QF ticket number is listed.

Thanks Jeza - Good advice. I had been so hesiteant to even login in or touch a booking given all the reported issues with awards being cancelled etc that I didn't think of that. Logging into the AY website shows the same new ticket number that appears on the QF website.

I'll breath a little easier now :)

Cheers
