Hi Coolumbla,
I have enjoyed reading your report and getting tips. What is the name of the apartment near the Eiffel Tower and were you happy with it. I have been checking out the Travelodge but the price in Sept. is 99 pounds for a family room. You got a bargain!
Cheers:)

Hi Kangarucci

this is the website Two Bedroom Eiffel Tower Tourist rental

I had no problems with the agency (i think i read about them on flyertalk )
(rent a paris apartment from a US agency!)
The keys arrived duly and the apartment was all it was said to be.It was after all an old paris building so the hot water didn't really last for 3 teenagers!

We walked everywhere except for a few trips on the train to Montmatre
ABout 45 mins to the Louvre 40 to the Arc de Triomphe

There were some supermarkets down the street so food wasn't a problem
Local restaurants were at a price that you would expect that close to a major tourist trap
If you went a bit further there were some chain supermarkets

The local bakeries were great!
I miss daily freshly made baguettes!!!

Great report!

I think OW could do with unifying benefits such as additional baggage entitlement, priority baggage handing etc across the alliance.
