My First Business Class Trip

Yes there will be a trip report - it will go up on Sunday. After reading everything and seeing the photos it seems so nice. I looked online - normally return from Melbourne to Perth is 2k - so next time I think I might as well go business class again. I don't come over that much and because I am used to going economy along the East Coast when I come out to the West it would be nice to go business.

In J you can use the airport Q lounge, it will be a larger seat on board with more room in front, the meal will be better and more crew per passenger, as said, once in J hard to go back.

This is going to be the worst post ever, but can anyone tell me or direct me to a site that explains all of this J and Q terms mean

eg I got a kind response my other thread, but it had a lot of Js and Qs in it

There is nothing better than travelling with people who have never experience business or first class before. Although I have to admit once you taste business/first class you'll find it very hard to ever sit in economy. Now if I ever have to sit in economy based on unvailable business/first seats I'm just amazed by the amount of people airlines try to squeeze into such a small space. Even movie theatres have more legroom and width in their seats!

The goal though as with any frequent flyer is to know all about the frequent flyer program you are flying with, and also to maximise your miles for trips so that you can upgrade from economy to business without too much extra cost. Fortunately I just pay for my own business/first tickets now (yes there are people that do that!), so I don't have to worry about the stress of the upgrade clearing. When I used to travel with United and did tons of SYD-SFO flights I always made sure I had a confirmed upgrade before I'd show up to the airport. There was no way I was going to do that trip more than once in economy!

It is a pleasure as a newbie to see such well informed posts in reply to this first time business class traveller !! no snide remarks --nothing was too much trouble to answer --Well done folks !!

I must say as someone who travels infrequently the remark "once you try J you wont go back" is so true! certainly on long international flights ;) I had occasion to travel to Ireland a few years back and went star alliance -- Sing air to Singapore and then Lufthansa to Frankfurt suffice to say I would NEVER fly Lufthansa again but thats another story -- again well done to the members that replied !!
