Routing I'm currently looking at is PER-MEL-SYD-HNL-LAX-JFK-LHR-CAI-AMM-HKG-BNE-ADL-PER

Mileage Monkey says it is OK, but wondering how I can best maximise this?

LHR is the only place I *really* need to be in, as I'll then be doing some separate tickets from there to meet up with a friend and tour around Europe for a month or so.

remember that you can backtrack within each continent. So to maximise the distance flown, for an east-bound OneWorld Explorer consider entering the continent at the eastern side and leaving at the western side. So SYD-JFK-various_NA_segments-LAX-LHR cam certainly help. But the trade-off is one of time spend flying vs mileage/status earning.

I have sometimes wondered if the extra trans-con you can get if you originate in PER is useful or not....

(Which is subject to using the right flights in or out of oz)

As I'll be travelling by myself till I hit LHR, time in the air isn't an issue

I wouldn't mind stopping in HNL, looks like an interesting place.
