Somewhat surprisingly, another layer of security meant we were bag checked on our way on to the plane, just before we got on board the plane. I'm not sure what they were looking for in their quick scurry through our bags, but we were contraband free (as always) so were straight on board.

There's an extra liquids and gels check for flights to Australia at many ports. I assume it's an Australian government requirement. I saw many bottles being handed over when boarding a flight to SYD in ICN once.

It (secondary checks for inbound flights) happen in many places: JNB, HKG...

Exceladdict, a great finale to an epic TR. I am so looking forward to our London Sydney CX in J in August & doing our own lounge crawl. I was thinking of starting with the arrivals lounge for a shower but the Qantas looks better to start the day & we can have a pre boarding shower in the Wing. We are going over in SQ suites so will be visiting TPR in Singapore so a shower there is on the cards.

Had the secondary check at BKK yesterday as well... some sad faces when people lost what looked like duty free that was not in a sealed bag!

Wow! Lots of food for thought. The idea of a HK lounge crawl rather appeals. Off to do some research!

What a great TR. I always enjoy reading them and thinking "one day".

I've also spent half the day thinking about the Mac and Cheese with pulled pork!

Thanks for reading! A year on from the trip, I'm really starting to miss the US (and the food).

Just catching up on some trip reports while I'm doing some planning - great TR and many thanks for all the detail and work
