In a few weeks I'm travelling MEL-BKK-USM for a wedding, returning USM-BKK-SIN-MEL. HWMBO is a BIG fan of SIN duty free but we have a bit of a timing issue. We only have 65 minutes in SIN (at around 9pm) and I think if we don't buy (or collect) our DF before T-60 it will be too late for them to deliver it to the gate (assuming you cant take it yourself?) What is the cut-off?

We have more time in BKK on the way up (transferring to our domestic DOM BKK-USM flight) but I don't know what the rules are about taking liquids through DOM security and onto a DOM flight?

Any suggestions? Really don't want to wait until we get back to Australia and pay the rip-off prices here

You wont make cut off in Singapore which from memory is T-75, domestic Thai should not be an issue with LAGS

Does anyone know what the normal retail prices of spirits are like in Thailand? Cheaper than Australian DF? We could always buy on the ground and pack into our check-in baggage - we'll still be within our DF limits.

Prices in BKK are comparable to SIN and cheaper than Australia.

Note you are only allowed 1 litre each going into Thailand.

I'm not suggesting you do the same but on a few trips I've taken more than my allowance into BKK...Most was taken as hand luggage and I bought more on arrival at BKK..

Agree with JohnK...BKK is usually slightly more expensive than SIN but cheaper than Oz. Currently a good exchange rate against the Baht which helps to lessen the price..
