That is always a boarding pass that any FF should appreciate :)

But there will almost certainly be someone sitting next to you :/

I did enjoy my SYD-JNB flight in 1A (points upgrade) last year with nobody next to me... :)
I don't expect to be that lucky again though.

1. Fly F to London
2. Fly J London-Paris and then New York - Melbourne (don't have the points for F)
3. That everyone travels safe in 2015!!

"Totally over the top" ????

For a mere $850 to fly Emirates in a F cabin for 4 hours, complete with an opportunity to shower in the sky, why wouldn't you ? I hardly think that is OTT... Its an experience!

This is definitely on my list for 2015.

Must confess that, had I not already had the shower-at-30,000-feet experience, I may not have been able to resist the temptation on the short flight! :)

I had at least four QF long-haul flights last year in 1A or 1K with nobody next to me (SYD-SCL 2x, SCL-SYD, SYD-JNB and I think also JNB-SYD, but I can't recall that one for certain) & SCL-SYD in 14A with 14B vacant :D.

This ^^^^^ My daughter and I are going on our first over seas trip at the end of January, I am terrified out of my mind, more so after the AirAisa incident.

I had managed to calm and settle myself after the first two major plane incidents earlier this yr, as we had plenty of time, but now this one is a bit to close for my nerves...Basically there is a great big ocean between Australia and the USA and then back again.

God speed, safe and happy travels to everyone in 2015...Us included :)

In 2014, 1155 people were killed on Australian roads alone. It was not too many more than this that died worldwide in Aircraft fatalities. I personally don't know a single person that is scared to travel in a vehicle. Why anybody is scared to fly is beyond my comprehension. Flying is far, far safer.

Not really true. Don't know the average car load, but many times I, and I suspect many on here, are not in fact the driver and have absolutely no control over events. And it only takes one moment for a driver you feel comfortable with to make an irreversible mistake.

I reckon it is more a matter of perception rather than reality about how/where/when you feel safe.

Agreed perception ..... is the word ....
