Mrs Mandja received a call from ourvacationcentre.com who are allied with cruise megastore in Qld. They were offering a membership of My241rewards at $499 for 12 months.
This gives, they said - a 2 for 1 certificate for a cruise and 12 months of 50% off hotel bookings. 12 months to book and another 12 to use.

Anyone here used them?
Wife said she asked can i use for a discounted cruise and get 1 free - they said yes, though my viewing of the website at www.my241rewards.com suggests, buy 1 at "brochure rate" and get 1 free.
I assume the 50% off hotels is off "rack rate"

Experience of others here? Thoughts?

Thoughts- sounds like a scam.
Never used them, and it may be legit, but in my experience you generally have to work for real-world discounts, even if that work is just comparing a few sites. I'd keep my money and spend it on a cruise direct or through someone I trust.

I have membership with 241 rewards as part of my membership with another vacation group. I am just a new member (to both groups) so haven't made any booking yet. Looking at the 241 website (once you've signed in with a membership number) they offer 2 for 1 when booking a cruise. The first person pays the ticket price and the second passenger pays the port taxes only which is usually a few hundred and some don't seem to charge any taxes for the 2nd passenger. There are a good variety of cruises with most cruise lines around the world. I've googled the cruises and found that it is a good deal. As I said I haven't actually made a booking with them yet so I can't tell you how it actually works but (so far) it looks ok to me. I'd like to book something soon so I'll let you know how I go :-)

Thanks Sheenaec7

You said "as part of my membership with another vacation group" - timeshare?

I havent used them yet but have booked a free week at a resort in Cambodia for July 16. As I travel a lot I do hope to get (more than) my money's worth out of the membership.

lol
I was in Cambodia....10 days ago.
Which resort? Where is it? I was in Phnomh Penh and Siem Reap , as well as Luang Prabang and Vientiane in Laos

This will be my first time to Cambodia. So far I've just booked a (free) week at Villa Zenato in Sihanoukville. I am probably going to do at least another week in Cambodia but not sure where yet. I'd like to get up to Siem Reap (and I'll most likely fly as I can't sit too long on bus trips). I haven't started to look at accom anywhere else yet but will do soon. Any recommendations?

[TD]DO YOUR HOMEWORK DO NOT BE PRESSURED!!!!! Be aware that 241 cruises are not two passengers for the price of one based on the cruise line advertised price but on the price set by 241 cruises based on what they get the cruises for. This will still give you a saving but it will take a number of cruises to make it worthwhile to become a member. So If you only intend to do one cruise then these are not for you. My own experience, I did not do my homework as I was on Holiday in Tasmania and no access to my computer so I bought what I thought was a good deal and was only available for a short period. My net outlay (after a cash back deal on my first booking) was approx $900 . As I had a free 241 cruise voucher previously I was aware of the implied savings advertised on their web site and the $900 would still give me a good saving on the deal plus the deal gave me a second 241 certificate and other cash saving certificates which I could give away as presents to family members. I was given a quote from 241 for $3529 plus $50 redemption fee for a cruise. Imagine my surprise when I found the advertised price from the cruise line was $1976 per person or $3952. This in reality gives me a net saving of only $373. So do your homework in how best to use these certificates before you sign up to get value for money and do not be pressured.

Agree with NA post way back in June 15 2016.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK. What I didn’t do was read the Terms & Conditions first on the MY241 website. Take the time to read it all partically near the end about cancellations.I also got this deal as parts of vacation group and had not used it so was contacted to remind me my time was running out. So pressure on to pick a cruise. Chose one and had to pay a booking fee of about 30% on the day. (Cruise was worth around $4000) Then I checked out the same cruise directly on the cruise lines site to see the saving was not approx half the price. Called and complained, was explained the prices are not based on the cruise lines advertised price but I have save about $800. Long story short, on the third day of my booking if I cancelled I would incur a $550 agents fee. We will end up going ahead with the cruise because in the end we have planned to do this for years. Still the point is, as the songs says , “fools rush in....” . Below is a snippet from the terms & conditions which shows the free pasenger deal is based on a person booking a cruise for only one traveler, most times nearly double a twin share per person deal.
How the My241 Rewards Program works...
It’s quite simple really - two (2) people enjoy the price of one (1)... easy!
That’s right - when the first passenger pays the full fare* (single product component only – E.g. Cruise, Tour or Fly-Cruise), the second passenger fare is FREE!
Really! The second passenger only pays for fees, charges and taxes such as Port Charges, Government Taxes and Gratuities (if applicable) - the fare portion of the cruise, tour or fly-cruise is FREE! We know - Amazing right!!

241 Cruise Example
PASSENGER 1 PAYS FOR A CRUISE
1 x cruise fare (at full fare*)
Government fees
Port Charges
Redemption fee
Gratuities (if applicable)

PASSENGER 2 CRUISE FARE IS FREE!
AND ONLY PAYS FOR
Government fees
Port Charges
Gratuities (if applicable)
