Many AFFers are visiting a wide and varied list of exotic destinations - no doubt many of you see new different and interesting items that you at first don't recognise or do not know how they work - time to share.

Came accross this item yesterday:

Always wondered about the stainless steel hose next to the toilet when there is a bidet there also. In fact, I've always wondered about the principle of the bidet itself.

I suppose that's what you get for growing up in the country

Correct - but not any toaster - the most useless toaster ever invented:

And after 3 mins 1 side:

And 3 mins the other side:

Than another 3 mins the first side again:

9 mins in total - and it was used about 30 seconds before I started - no doubt about Danish design ingenuity.

Now surely some other AFFers have some gems also?

So.. If it's 'Danish Designed' - AKA - marketing ploy! ' should have a price tag about 6x the real value..

Was this item in a Lounge somewhere ?

It doesn't seem very efficient design. Most of the heat would just rise up. Thinking about it a conventional popup toaster is a pretty efficient design. Toasting both sides at the same time and containing most of the heat. Incredible they came up with a worse design.

Found it when having breakfast in Alberto K Rstaurant the main restaurant in Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Copenhagen.

Looks like one of the those new low carbon toasters the oneworld government is forcing everyone to implement. (Kidding!)

one of those infrared jobs?
No not infrared - just plain ol' element type.

BUT - BAD NEWS

Just been down to brekkie again this morning - the you beaut toaster is nowhere to be seen - in fact no toaster full stop.

Staff informed me toaster died this morning - no longer wants to satisy hungry crowds - in it's place? Nothing / nada / zilch / zero - not a toaster to be seen.

Sorry Sir - Sunday morning - cannot get it repaired. 5* hotel - allegedly - with no back up toaster at all - give me a break Radisson.

Given its performance, I'm sure it didn't make much of a difference whether it's available or not.

Yep would be a very slow way to toast.

I wonder wot happens when someone tries to do cheese on toast and the cheese drops on to the element.
