Your share of general living expenses - bills, food, etc

Are people putting monthly expenses?

Edit: Well after identity check online via Veda(Not credit check) I'm told I have been approved!....may contact in next 5 days?
So approved or what?

Probably approved subject to verification, e.g. you may need to "prove" some of the info you entered, most obvious is proof of income via providing payslips or similar.

I might have to clear the decks a little before I have a crack at this one.
.....
When I checked my Veda score a few days ago, it was "Average", presumably as a result of jumping on the bonus point collection bandwagon a bit too often.

When I checked my Veda score again earlier this month, it'd increased by all of one. I read on another forum somewhere that applying for a home loan improves your Veda score  ..... no thanks; I've been mortgage-free for five years, and I like it that way.

So with the days counting down on this current offer, I applied last Wednesday evening, and received the dreaded, ".... we'll need to take a closer look at your application....."

Yeah but it's quite possible to take a small mortgage and either put the money into an offset account and/or pay the mortgage down to $1. I know people like being mortgage free but there are some advantages on having a mortgage which is largely paid out but available(for redraw), and your credit score is only one of these.

Where as I got the text saying card within 5 days!

From memory, I received instant approval for the Velocity Premium card when I applied for it around August last year. I still have that card (and use the Amex, where it makes sense points-wise), but I intend to cancel it before the annual fee is due again.

When I applied for the basic Qantas card later last year, approval wasn't instant, but came the next day. I've since cancelled that one, but it did see some action.

It could be that my current combined credit limit is the issue, since I'm now holding a few cards that I intend to keep.

You mean to have quick access to capital?

Indeed that is an advantage, and not only purely the speed issue, you dont then need to have to go through the hassle of applying for money which can be extra stressful when you are under time pressure. Credit accessability criteria changes from time to time and having this in place gives me a backstop should I ever never need fastaccess to cash (and just as important easy access).

Is premium and plat card the same thing? Plat cards arrived... No mention of no fees or bonus points WTF?
Email said premium card, text said credit card

Edit: Quick web review says they are the same thing.

So does it matter if I use the amex or visa for 1st only purchase to get bonus points?

They're the same thing only they haven't rebranded the plastic to "premium".

Just got an e-mail and text message to say that my application has been approved. :D

Logged in to NAB online banking, and sure enough, the details are there.

Doesn't matter. AMEX better earn rate though.

I have had the card for over a month and have been using it for my daily purchases.

I am yet to see the points hit :(

Hope I didn't do anything wrong! Anyone else waiting on points?

Mrs Ralph and I both got cards at the same time. Mine landed within 2 weeks of opening accounts. Mrs Ralphs's still haven't arrived 8 weeks after opening.

Also waiting on points here
Dad and sister got theirs in the first week.. We all applied together

Got mine in Feb, +1 is still waiting for hers, qualifying spend was a month later though. Patience :)
