NAB Qantas Platinum Card

Same customer support numbers as gold card as well. Seems it just a platinum coloured card and not much else. Who dreams these things up???

Not on mine. It's a different number to my Gold card and if I ring it, it answers as "Thank you for calling NAB Platinum card service".

I haven't noticed the card type printed on the receipt, but it sounds plausible - card types AFAIK are determined by the BIN (the first six digits). As they didn't change the card numbers (presumably for convenience - I'd be up in arms if they changed the number as well) the card is probably still associated with the Gold BIN.

I have the Platinum and Gold AMEX cards. Got the Platinum first, applied for the Gold for the extra points. I have no intention of using it!

In some shops I have read the receipt as NAB Gold when using the Platinum card. Doesn't bother me at all.

There is a dedicated Platinum customer service line and I have never had to weight.

I do, however, there are different versions of Platinum including Platinum 'lite' which is the free upgrade to existing customers.
